Input Requested for Health Strategy

Posted By on Dec 6, 2010 |

This is a great way to get involved in the health discussion, and there are sessions all over New Mexico! See info below:
December 8th – December 15th:
The Affordable Care Act, signed into law by President Obama, creates a National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council (Council). The Council, composed of senior federal government officials and chaired by Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, is charged with developing a National Prevention and Health Promotion Strategy (Strategy). Your input is being sought to contribute to the development of the Strategy. University of New Mexico Prevention Research Center (PRC) staff are collecting input for the Strategy from individuals throughout New Mexico at the request of the Under Secretary of Health, Region VI Director Ms. Marjorie Petty. Please let Susan DeFrancesco know if you can attend one of the listening sessions by contacting her at sdefrancesco@salud.unm.edu or at 505-272-3933 Light refreshments will be served.
